Patients who have undergone radiation procedures usually have a question about the level and risk of radiation. Radiologists and technologists can describe radiation and its biological effects with radiation descriptors such as: background equivalent radiation time (BERT), critical organ dose (COD), surface absorbed dose (SAD), and so on. BERT is an expression of patient dose at the time of exposure from natural background; indeed, it is mentioned that the dose of patient how much of background radiation is so BERT doesn’t have any scientific unit. It is simple and understandable for general public because all people are exposed every day to some level of natural radiation from the soil, air, and food. The level of natural background radiation varies in different locations; however, the natural annul background radiation is 3msv. On the other hand, today, the use of mobile phone has increased and it is an inseparable part of life for the majority of people. Smart mobile phone has an advanced operating system which combines the personal computer system features with those which are useful for mobile. They can run many applications, so they are faced with great fortune today; as a result, designing an application for mobile phones to calculate BERT for any procedure can be useful to explain the patient level of radiation and their risks.
