Minimum data set for self-care system based on mobile phone for patients with Rheumatoid arthritis.

Background:Chronic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, due to their progressivity are often debilitating and affect the quality of life. The aim of this study was to determine the Minimum data set for self-care system based on mobile phone for patients with Rheumatoid arthritis. Investigation method: In this cross-sectional study,35rheumatologists were selected in Tehran.The research instrument was a questionnaire.Content validity and Cronbach’s alpha were usedrespectively to assess the validity and reliability of the questionnaire. Results: In priorities, the highest average was related to the morning stiffness (4.8), weakness and fatigue(4.8), swollen joints(4.8), alerts and reminders(4.8), improved quality of life(4.7) and consuming drugs (4.6). The average monthly income, type of insurance, surgery, fever(2.4)and Anemia (2.3) had the lowest average. Conclusion: Considering the importance of managing and controlling rheumatoid arthritis, determining the minimum data set (e.g. The Identity and clinical information of the patients and system capabilities) is a vital step in designing an efficient mobile phone based self-care systems.
