Extraction and Charactrization of organic compounds in essential oils of Cupressus leaves

The genus Cupressus, common name cypress, are native From warm temperate locations of the northern hemisphere .This genus ,represented by 30 perennial species around the world,presents a large variety of forms, sizes and colors and some are extensively cultivated. A large number of species are known to possess different pharmacologic properties, namely due to their essential oils (EO) contents some Cupressus species have been used in Folk medicine.[1] In this research work, first we collected the leaves, of cupressus tree. Then crushed, and weight 100 gr of them to distillation of steam.100 mL of distillated of collect and extraction with ether. Then, the solvent dried with Na2SO4 and evaporated. The yiled is 0.5 % , and reside was charactrized with FT-IR and GC-Mass spectroscopy
