Nanomaterials have broad applications in a variety of fields because of their unusual and size dependent optical, magnetic, electronic, catalytic and chemical properties. Nanoparticles are characterized by an extremely large surface to volume ratio, and their properties are determined mainly by the behaviour of their surface [1]. Chemical and physical properties of solid materials strongly depend on both the size and the shape of the microscopic particles they are made up from. This is especially true for materials with morphological features smaller than a micron in at least one dimension, which is are commonly called nano-scale materials, or simply nano-materials [2,3]. Nanoparticles of a Ag(I) compound{[Ag¬(C10H6N2(CH3)2)(SCN)]} has been synthesized by a sonochemical process and characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, IR spectroscopy and elemental analyses.
