Dye contaminated groundwater is one of the ecological problems. Hazelnut husk was tested for the removal of acid dye from aqueous solutions in batch system. The adsorption of Acid Orange II (AO II) in aqueous solution with Hazelnut husk was investigated under different time, dye initial concentration (5-30 mg/L), pH solution (1-6) and adsorbent dosage (0.01-1 g). The maximum adsorption of Acid Orange II dye was obtained in pH=2. The adsorption kinetics was modeled using the Pseudo-first order, Pseudo-second order, and Intra-particle diffusion equations. The adsorption of the AO II on Hazelnut husk followed a pseudo second-order model. The results showed that the Hazelnut husk can be considered as an adsorbent low-cost for Acid Orange II dye removal from aqueous solution.
