امروزه نقش اصلي آب و هوا در طراحي معماري و همچنين در پيدايش معماري پايداركامل مشهود و قابل درك است لذا داشتن چنين دغدغههايي نظير بحران زيست محيطي موجود، استفاده بي رويه از منابع انرژي غير قابل تجديد، گرم شدن جهاني و افزايش ورود گازهاي گلخانهاي به اتمسفر،اهميت طراحي ساختمان براساس آب و هوا را دو چندان ميكند. توسعه پايدار بحث برانگيزترين موضوع معماري است و ديدگاههاي تئوري بسياري در اين خصوص مطرح شده اند معماري پايدار نوعي معماري است كه با استفاده بهينه از ظرفيتهايش يعني با به حداقل رساندن آسيب هاي زيست محيطي و انعطافپذير بودن در برابر تغيير شرايط بهترين عملكرد را داراست استفاده از مصالح ساختماني بومي و همچنين به كارگيري روشهاي قديمي ساخت و ساز براي كاهش مصرف انرژي باعث پايداري زيست محيطي و افزايش دوام ساختمانها شده ا ست طراحي معماري در آب و هواي گرم و خشك شامل روشهايي براي به حداقل رساندن (يا حداقل ثابت نگهداشتن) هزينه هاي لازم براي حفظ شرايط ايدهآل رفاهي در فضاهاي داخلي ساختمان است اين تحقيق براساس اندازهگيري دماي هوا و سطح در خيابانهاي مختلف شهر سمنان كه داراي اقليم گرم و خشك است شكل گرفته است

due to crucial role of climate in architectural design az well az in making sustainable architecture a reality and considering such concerns as the existing environmental crisis indiscriminate use of non-renewable energy resources global warming and the increasing rate at which greenhouse gases are released into atmosphere we can realize the importance of god climate-oriented bulding design as a thing of relevance in todays architecture Sustainable development is a most controversial subject in Architecture and many theoretical perspectives have been proposed in this regard Sustainable Architecture is that Architecture which is responsive to environmental conditions by making optimal use of its capacities by causing minimum environmental damage and being flexible to changing conditions Using vernacular building materials as well as employing traditional construction methods to reduce energy consumption has led to environmental sustainability and increased durability of buildings. Architectural design in hot- and dry climates entails methods for minimizing the necessary costs for maintaining ideal comfort conditions in the internal spaces of a building. This work is based on air and surface temperature measurements taken in different urban street canyons in semnan City
