Objectives: Various injuries in horse depend on breadth, depth, anatomic location and particular uses have very high prevalence. One of the most problems of the open wound of lower limb in horses is over formation of granulation tissue. Therefore, the current study was performed to evaluated histomorphometric effects of herbal formula including Tea Tree Oil and Chamomile on secondary wound healing in horse.Material Methods: This study was conducted for 21 days on twelve healthy adult male horses categorized in two groups that make 2×2cm full layer wound on dorsal surface of forelimb. I) this group was chosen as the control group and their wound were washed daily with normal saline and then were bandaged; II) to treat this group, mentioned (Herbal) formula were used. Wound area measurement and histopathological examination was performed as a routine procedure in 0, 7, 14 and 21 days.results Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that significant differences between treatment and control group (P 0.01). This means that the wound surface in the treatment group is 60% lesser than the control group after 21 days. Also, formation of exuberant granulation tissue in treatment group was controlled during the investigation. Therefore, it seems this cited herbal formula contains Tea Tree Oil and Chamomile to be useful for lower limb wound in equine
