Objectives: NSAID are one of most useful dugs in both human and pet medicine. These drugs cause to cyclooxygenase inhibition and they are inflammation relief, anti-fever and anti-pain, too. These drugs have anti inflammation in over doses. Their main action mechanism is inhibition of prostaglandin production. Carprofen in pets (dogs) is often used to osteoarthritis treatment.Methods: In current report, among dogs referred to veterinary clinic of ShahidChamran university of Ahwaz, we show 2 GI side effects (Diarrhea with vomiting and icterus) in 2 DSH cats with age range between 2 -3 years old. Both cats (for orthopedic problems) were treated with Sc (subcutaneous) ketoprofen for 5 days.Results: Endoscopy confirmed stomach perforation and hemorrhage. While with drug use stop (replacement with aspirin) and fluid therapy and vitamin injection, side effects removed in these animals but clinicians must be noted to writing NSAD drugs to their ills. GI side effect mechanism is for distribution of defensive mechanism in stomach due to these drug recommendation. It must be noted that cats are more sensitive to different drug metabolization such as SAID and NSAID drugs because their defect in their hepatic enzymes (Gloucoroniltransferase). Conclusion: this study shows that carperofen must not be recommended for cats.
