USEFUL HERBS FOR TREATING THE POISON IN BEE STINGIN TRADITIONAL MEDICINE OF IRAN

Objectives: The poison in bee sting damages body. This damage is often related to the part being stung. Sometimes, the bee sting results in dangerous consequences like allergic reactions that threaten human life. In sensitive people, the poison of bee sting leads to manifestation of sever phenomena including destruction of muscles, poor functioning of kidneys and in some rare conditions the bee sting results in death of a person. In those individuals who are not sensitive to bee sting, some local problems might appear near the stung part: itching, ache, inflation and boil, vomiting and anxiety. Needless to say that severity of bee sting depends on several factors including the type of the bee, the part being stung, the number of the times for bee sting, and the sensitivity of the person to the poison in the bee sting.Materials Methods: To recognize the effective herbs to treat the bee sting, a number of the most important traditional medicines references were analyzed. Alabniyat an Haghayeghaladviyeh (MovafaghaldinAbou Mansour Ali Alhervi), Ferdousalhekmat , (Ali ebnTabari), Ghanun fi Teb (Aveccina), ZakhireKharazmshahi and KhafiAlayee (SeidEsmaeelJorjani),MojarabatFarangi (Hakim Mettissaheb), RemoozAzam and EksirAzam (Hakim MohammadAzamKhan), Alhavi fi Teb (Razi), Allajalamrazfarsi (Hakim Mohammd Sharif Khan Dehlavi).Results Conclusion: In these collections a number of herbs were proposed as the remedy for treating the poison in bee sting of which the following could be mentioned: Fumitory (Fumaria parviflora), Dwarf pomogranata (Punica grantum), Cucumber (Cucumis sativus), Garden lettuce(Lactuca sativa),Comphor tree(Cinnamomumcomphora),Pumkin(Cucurbitapepo), Sweet basil(Ocimumbasilicum), Garlic(Allium sativum),Figs (Ficus carica), Hollyhock (Althae officinalis), Coriander (Coriandrum sativum), Chicory (‎Cichorium intybus).
