Study the causes of socio - economic phenomenon affecting urban begging; A Case Study of Railway Square Tehran

This paper studies the economic and social causes of begging within the railway Tehran. The authors of sociologists and social policy to clarify the conceptual and theoretical aspects of it have benefited And qualitative methods and techniques such as deep and semi-structured in-terviews and observation of appearance and style and techniques of begging them to identify, analyze and collect data used. The phenomenon of begging by two categories of factors includ-ing environmental risk factors linked directly affected by arousing feelings of pity of altruistic acts. The results showed that an important factor because the nature of Tehran in terms of cen-tralization and immigration and features of beggars as poor health, Low education level, family disruption, lack of basic capabilities and their poverty and unemployment were the decisive factors that reinforce each other out And failure to day situations and roles led begging. The study showed that the roles begging through social-psychological process of self-esteem de-grading treatment and continuity have become common. So, contrary to theories that beggars to no effort and moral vices accused; Based on the results of this paper are the causes of pov-erty and distress and related variables later and secondary and more fundamental role in this process play.
