In some soils, due to increased humidity, there are phenomena that cause major damages in construction projects that they call water-sensitive soils ; these soils are divided into three categories of Expansive Soils, divergent soils and Coallapsible Soils [1]. Divergent soils are clay soils that are easily washed in low concentration water. The clay contained in these soils has large amounts of sodium ion in their absorption cations. Divergence is a progressive phenomenon that starts from a point with a concentration of water flow and gradually expands the starting point of the divergence phenomenon can be the cracks resulting from the contraction and seams or cracks from the root of the plants. This phenomenon is important in plans such as earth dams and water canals, where the concentration of water pressure inside the soil is important, and the problems caused by this physical-chemical phenomenon in the ditches, canal walls and earth dams, Irrevocable. The formation of divergent soils occurs in dry and semi-arid climates and also in humid areas in recent years. Therefore, research on different methods of recognition, improvement of divergent soils is of great importance. In this paper, let’s look at it.
