The present paper is concerned with the utilization of the finite element analysis of fibre-matrix damage of unidirectional fibre-reinforced composites under tensile loading. Reliable engineering design depends on the prediction of damage initiation, damage progression, and the development of failure conditions. The strength of laminated carbon fibre-reinforced composite materials depends on the combination of the orientations of the stacked plies with respect to the applied loads and the state of the bonding between adjacent plies. In this study, A numerical modelling of the fibre-matrix damage of unidirectional carbon fibre-reinforced composite response was performed using the ABAQUS commercial software.
