A combined front-tracking/ghost-fluid method is used to simulate fluid front in a helium-air shock tube problem. An explicit front-tracking method captures the fluid interfaces. The ghost-fluid method defines the interface conditions. The shock-bubble interaction using the Euler equations without surface tension effect are performed, as has been done in past computations in order to demonstrate the accuracy and capability of this method. The computational results are compared with Haas and Sturtevant’s experiment and earlier computational studies. The results show that the method accurately simulates interface dynamics.
