Utilization of materials for any application requires knowledge of the mechanical properties. In this research, the mechanical properties of cylindrical composite shells like longitudinal and transverse modulus, shear modulus and tensile strength were evaluated. Carbon -epoxy composite shells were fabricated by filament winding process, therefore the unidirectional samples of composite made by filament winding machine, too. To measure these values several samples with several different test procedures were performed. These procedures are according to ASTM standards. All of the tensile tests were performed by 2.5 kN universal testing machine at cross-head displacement speeds of 1mm/min. As a consequence of this work, the engineering constants of carbon –epoxy composite shells, including E1, E2, G12 and Sy estimated by tensile test of 0◦, 90◦ and 45◦ laminates and nol ring tensile test respectively
