In the present paper the mechanical properties of TiB2 particles reinforced magnesium alloy AZ80 composite are studied. The composite is fabricated using dynamic powder compaction technique. The AZ80 alloy and TiB2 micro particles are used as the matrix alloy and the reinforcement, respectively. The specimens are compacted using warm dynamic compaction. The mechanically milled AZ80 alloy micron-sized powder and TiB2 micro particles are dynamically compacted using a drop hammer device. The compaction is performed at different temperatures and for various volume fractions of TiB2 micro particles. It was found that increasing the amount of TiB2 micro particles improves the strength and hardness of the compacted specimen.
