In this study, an experimental investigation is performed to the effect of nano modified sizing material on
the mechanical properties including flexural stiffness and strength of laminated composites. For this purpose, two types
of nano particles including functionalized carbon nano tube (fCNT) and carbon nano fiber (CNF) are dispersed in the
sizing materials of the glass fibers. Afterwards, the three-point bending (3-PB) specimens using the glass fiber/epoxy
with nano modified sizing and without sizing are manufactured by deep coating hand layup methods and tested based
on the ASTM standard. The experimental results show that specimens without sizing have the lowest strength due to
the lack of coupling agent. In addition, the nano reinforced sizing has less effect on the flexural modulus of 3-PB
specimens.
