In this work, TiO2/NiF2O4/Graphene nanocomposites containing 0.015, 0.030, 0.060 and 0.12 g of graphene (Gr) were synthesized, as magnetic photocatalysts, by in situ hydrolysis method and characterized by XRD, FESEM and photodegradation tests. FESEM results revealed that both TiO2 and NiFe2O4 nanocomposites were coated on the surfaces of graphene. The photocatalytic activity has been studied by degradation of basic blue 9 (BB9). The photodegradation test results exhibited that the synthesized nanocomposites have good photocatalytic activity under visible light irradiation. The 71% degradation of BB9 under 90 min visible light irradiation was achieved when TiO2/NiF2O4/Gr nanocomposites containing 0.12 g graphene was used as photocatalyst. These results confirm that the synthesized nanocomposites have good photocatalytic activity under visible light and can be used in BB9 and other organic compounds degradation successfully. It is necessary to note that due to their magnetic properties, TiO2/NiFe2O4/Gr nanocomposites can be recycled easily under magnetic fields.
