In this study, the effect of nitrogen on the corrosion resistance of the passive films formed on Fe-
23Cr-2.4Mo solution nitrided at 1200℃ in a nitrogen gas pressure of 0.25 MPa (2.5bar) for 12 h
(HNASS) evaluated by recording open circuit potential (ocp),potentiodynamics polarization (PP),
electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in 0.5M H2SO4 solution. The results showed that
nitrogen increased the general corrosion resistance compared with the Fe-23Cr-2.4Mo steel which
was related to the formation of stable and protective passive film.
