Study of Solar Thermal Storage Tanks

Solar thermal energy is the use of solar energy to produce heat. Heat storage can be an ongoing issue for commercial and residential installations. While many don’t consider solar thermal water storage to generate heat, this non-pressurized tank systems offer the dependable heat delivery you want, along with cost savings and increased efficiency. The heat generated by the solar collectors is fed through a heat exchanger into the water-filled solar tank. The hot water can be used in the kitchen and bathroom and to heat the rooms. If the solar-produced heat is not used immediately, the solar tank holds it until it is drawn later, e.g. in the evening or at night. In this paper, after introducing solar thermal, solar thermal storage and solar thermal tanks, common solar thermal storage methods systems are explained and then, as results most three popular typical tanks are discussed including their benefits and finally conclusions are mentioned.
