Separation Method With Filter Local Minimum Baseflow

In this study the US geology survey Local Minimum method, is coupled with the RDF method to develop the filtered local minimum method (FLM). A 47 year data of the Karoon River have been used to evaluate the results of the new method. In the FLM method the sharp peaks and troughs generated by the Local Minimum method has been removed, and FLM method can trace the local minimum method during the recession period and the RDF method during the ascending limb of the hydrograph. The results of the RDF and FLM method are so similar, so FLM can be used instead of the RDF method, science the it requires one pass of the recursive digital filter
