Narratives have proved themselves essential to our lives, both fictional stories and those sequences of actions or/and imageries that we call them factual reports, news, histories, etc. Arguably, it is the narrative form of these products that helps us make sense of a series of seemingly irrelevant, disorderly, and dispersed events. It is this logical string or psychological association between events that structures them into one intelligible thing that provides us with some idea of who we are and what life is. Narratological study of stories helps us comprehend the common ways in which the infinitely colorful imageries assume some distinct forms. This study aims to provide insights about how Alice Munro’s short story “How I Met My Husband” was narrated. The work is going to include some theoretical concepts of narrative and narratology to make it easier for the reader to follow the paper when it identifies and detects different levels of the narrative and illuminates their interaction to create a richer and better interpretation of the whole work.
