Experimental solubility and tie-line data for the ternary system of (water + phosphoric acid + propyl acetate) were measured at T = 318.2K and atmospheric pressure. Data for the binodal curve were determined by cloud-point titration method. The concentration of phase was determined by acidimetric titration, the Karl–Fischer technique, and refractive index measurements. A type-1 LLE phase diagram was obtained for this ternary system. The quality of the experimental tie-line data was determined through the Othmer–Tobias correlation equation. The experimental distribution coefficients and separation factors were evaluated for this system. The results show the ability of this organic solvent for extraction of phosphoric acid from water.
