تحولات تكنولوژيكي، شتاب فزاينده علم و دانش و ارتقاي انتظارات و ارزشهاي فكري محيط پيرامون و به طور كلي نمونه هايي از اين تغييرات و نيروي وارده برپيكره سازمانها، مدير امروزي را ناگزير مي‌كند براي حفظ حيات سازمان، خود و خط مشي هاي خود را با تغييرات منطبق نموده و همگام با آنها در مسير بهبود حركت كند. بهبود سازماني به عنوان يكي از ابزارهاي كاربردي براي تغييرات بنيادي در سازمان محسوب مي شود. اگر نياز به تغيير احساس نشود و مدير عالي سازمان به ايجاد تغيير باور نداشته باشد،‌ ترويج ارزشها و الگوهاي رفتاري جديد به منظور بهبود سازماني، تقريباً غيرممكن مي شود. در اين مقاله مروري خواهيم داشت بر مفاهيم بهبود سازماني و تاريخچه آن ، و بدين ترتيب با اهداف و روش هاي بهبود سازماني آشنا خواهيم شد . در بخش انتهايي مقاله نيز به سوالات تحقيق پاسخ داده خواهد شد.

Organizational improvement is considered as one of the tools for fundamental change in the organization. If there is no need for change and the organizations top manager does not believe in change its almost impossible to promote new values and behaviors in order to improve the organization. In this article we will review the concepts of organizational improvement and its history and thus we will become acquainted with the goals and methods of organizational improvement. In the end section of the article the research questions will be answered.
