Even, it may last for several days. Another method is used in large hydropower plants to reduce this time. According to this method, the discharge of water through a turbine is done by opening wicket gates. A considerable amount of water is led to the downstream of power plant. Despite the advantage of reducing the discharge time, special considerations, such as: control of turbine speed, performance of guide bearings, unit vibration, and the turbine wheel, must be considered. In this study, the discharge of waterway through turbine is analyzed using mathematical and numerical modeling. The speeding up the turbine wheel, different time of discharge through wicket gates, and performance of hydraulic turbines should numerically be analyzed. In this study, Seymareh Hydropower Plant is investigated. Keywords: Hydroelectric power plant, discharge through turbines, increasing speed, wicket gates, performance charts.
