Assessment of Citizens Readiness Toward Realization of E-Government(Case Study : Mashhad )

The purpose of this study is to investigate and assess the citizens readiness for applying information technology and using e-Government services, e-Banking and e-Municipality among Mashhad Citizens.The study sample consisted of 800 citizens who are older than 20 and they are selected by cluster sampling. The questionnaire consisted of 30 questions based on the research questions that have been formulated by the researchers. We used content validity for investigating validity of the questioner. Alsoin this study, Cronbachʹs alpha was used to calculate the reliability coefficient of measuring. Analysis of data in this study has been conducted at two level: descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings in relation to the research questions showed that if the government providethe necessary infrastructure for IT and Internet -based services tocitizens, they are ready to accept and use of e-services provided by banks, municipalities and government organizations via the Internet.
