Toward Green University by utilizing Photovoltaic technology

Environmental issues such as pollution and depletion of conventional sources of energy are major concern in these decades. By increasing the awareness about these problems in each country the governmental buildings and universities take first step to move toward sustainability. Each university tries different strategies to interpret sustainability into the action. Utilizing solar power by photovoltaic panels (PV) are very promising action which is characterized as pollution free, environment friendly, sustainable as well as noise-free source of electricity. This paper reviews the successful green university cases around the world which use different strategies to approach to green university. However, the focouse in this research is on the universities which plan to utilize photovoltaic panels for providing part of their electricity demand and reducing their Co2 emission. Moreover based on real cases and previous studies the regulations and effective factors are proposed to enhance the photovoltaic panel usage in universities.
