In this paper, we obtain an approximate solution for fractional order Van der Pol equation.
The coefficients in the proposed method are divided into two groups: the fixed coefficients and
the free coefficients. The fixed coefficients are determined by using the initial conditions and
the free coefficients are obtained optimally by minimizing the error of the approximate solution.
The results reveal that the proposed method is very effective and simple. Effect of different
parameters on the problem under study is also discussed. The method can be easily extended to
other nonlinear problems.
