The maximum entropy and minimum divergence approaches for estimating the probability density functions has been widely used in many research areas, particularly in economics. In economics and the social sciences, approximating income distribution with regard to income inequality in society is of interest. In this paper, we review the entropy maximization with some inequality measures constraints and generalize the maximum entropy and minimum divergence approaches from shannon entropy to generalized entropy by considering income inequality measures.
