امروزه با توجه به بحران انرژي و سوختهاي فسيلي، آلودگي‌هاي زيست محيطي و گرم شدن زمين، افزايش جمعيت و نياز به مصرف انرژي و توسعه پيشرفت و تكنولوژي، بشر را در شرايطي قرار داده كه باعث آغاز عصر پايداري و تغييرات فراوان در معماري در جهت بهبود بخشيدن اوضاع گردد و انسان تمام تلاش خود را در جهت ذخيره سازي انرژي نمايد . با توجه به طراحي معماري متناسب با اقليم و ايجاد يك الگوي مناسب در اين راستا ، مي توان بر كاهش مصرف انرژي و جلوگيري از اتلاف بي رويه انرژي و همچنين به وقوع پيوستن طرح هاي همساز با محيط تأثير گذار بوده و در شكل گيري ساختمانهاي پايدار نقش بسزايي داشت. لذا اهميت شناخت شرايط اقليمي در هر منطقه و در نظر گرفتن آن، به دليل ارتباط مستقيم معماري و اقليم، از مهمترين عوامل در ايجاد آسايش و رفاه كاربران ساختمانها در آن منطقه در جهت رسيدن به طراحي پايدار مي باشد. در اين راستا از طريق مطالعات كتابخانه اي و به روش توسعه اي كاربردي، به تحليل اقليمي بر اساس تقسيمات چهار گانه دكتر حسن گنجي و تأثيرگذاري آن در طراحي ساختمان جهت رسيدن به معماري پايدار در اقليم معتدل و مرطوب مي پردازيم.
