حكماي اشراقي و عرفايي عوالم واسطي بين عالم معنا و عالم ماده را قائل شده اند كه عالم واسط ميان عالم جبروت و ملك و شهادت است..امروزه كارايي هاي جديدي براي اين عوالم در فلسفة دين، روان شناسي، فلسفة ذهن، ادبيات و بخصوص در هنر نيز تعريف شده كه داراي اهميت بسياري است .هنرهاي ايران در عين تنوع در صورت از يك معنا سخن گفته اند و به مفاهيمي مشترك دلالت دارند و بنابراين اين امر آميزه اي است از باورهاي ايراني و اسلامي كه تاثير بسزايي در معماري ايراني داشته و باعث شكل گيري هنر ايراني شده است. در روند مقاله، ابتدا به تعريف و پيشينهي تحقيق در خصوص عالم خيال پرداخته ميشود و عالم خيال از منظر بزرگان عرفاني را مورد بررسي قرار داده و با استفاده از اسناد و مدارك كتابخانهاي به بررسي معماري و هنر ايران و ارتباط آن با حكمت و عالم خيال مورد بررسي قرار داده شده است. هدف از اين مقاله بررسي چگونگي تجلي عالم خيال در هنر ها و معماري ايران است. نتايج حاكي از آن است كه فلسفه و حكمت عالم خيال در تفكر اسلامي تاثير بسزايي در بسياري از هنر هاي سنتي ايران نظير نگارگري،خطاطي، تزيينات و نقوش هندسي؛ باغسازي و معماري شهر هاي تاريخي و زيباي ايران نظير ،قالي بافي اصفهان داشته است و بسياري از هنر ها و معماري سنتي ايراني بر اساس حكت مثالي شكل گرفته است.
