زيبايي‌شناسي يكي از رشته‌هاي فلسفه است كه به عنوان نظريه ي تأمل در داوري هاي زيبايي‌شناختي تعريف مي‌شود. زيبايي‌شناسي، قابليتي است براي درك بهتر اجسام و باعث تغيير در نگرش مي‌گردد. هدف زيباشناسي اين است كه چگونگي محيط اطراف و جايگاه شخص در محيط اطراف را به معناي واقعي درك كند. همان نقشي كه عقل در علم اخلاق دارد، ذوق و سليقه در علم زيبايي‌شناسي ايفا مي‌كند. زيبايي شناسي به عنوان شاخه اي از فلسفه كه به فلسفه هنر مي پردازد قرنهاست كه مورد بحث هنرمندان و فيلسوفان قرار داشته است. اما در حيطه شهرسازي پرداختن به موضوع زيبايي شناسي با پيچيدگي هاي فراواني مواجه بوده است. در پژوهش حاضر در فرآيندي كه ابتدا به بررسي مفهوم زيبايي و سير تاريخي آن پرداخته است، نظريات مختلف مطرح در زمينه زيبايي شناسي بررسي شده و با استفاده از مفاهيم مطرح در نظريه فرماليسم به تبيين معيارهاي قابل استفاده در زمينه شناخت زيبايي شناسانه فضاي شهري پرداخته شده است.

Aesthetics is one of the disciplines of philosophy, which is defined as the theory of reflection in aesthetic judgments. Aesthetics is a tool for better understanding of objects and changes in attitude. The goal of aesthetics is to truly understand the environment and the person s place in the surrounding environment. The same role that reason has in ethics has a taste for aesthetics. Aesthetics has been the subject of discussion for artists and philosophers as a branch of philosophy that deals with the philosophy of art for centuries. But in the area of ​​urbanization, dealing with the subject of aesthetics has faced many complications. In the present study, in a process that first explores the concept of beauty and its historical course, various aesthetic theories have been examined and, using the concepts implied in formalism theory, explains the applicable criteria for aesthetic recognition of urban space.
