Currently, there is a strong tendency to develop guidelines for the design of Cold-Formed Steel (CFS) as seismic resistant shear walls. In this paper the performance of light weight K-braced CFS shear panels under cyclic loading is experimentally evaluated. Two full-scale, 2.4m × 2.4m, K-braced CFS shear panels with different arrangements were tested. By introducing some modifications to the currently utilized connections of CFS shear panels, their performance observed to be enhanced considerably. Also, the failure modes, hysteretic behavior, ductility factor, energy dissipation and energy absorption capacity for each specimen were presented. It was found that the shear strength, energy dissipation and ductility capacities of the CFS shear panel have increased by up to 1.67, 1.95 and 1.45 times, respectively.
