Solid state fermentation method for production of single cell protein was investigated. Tray bioreactor contain tree tray for solid state fermentation was used. Sugarcane bagasse as lignocellulosic substrate was used. Some variables that affect the process such as extraction buffer, substrate initial moisture, fermentation time, bioreactor moisture and temparature were optimized. Protein concentration and cellulotic activity was measured. Maximum cellulotic activity found to be 43.43% for top tray and 37.71% for middle tray at 35°C. At optimum condition, 0.078 and 0.075 (g protein/g substrate) was obtained for top and middle tray, respectively.
