Prioritizing R D projects is one of the most important fields in the R D management in any organization. R D projects play a key role in the organization s success therefore selecting appropriate projects is very important. In this research a novel empirical approach based on the fuzzy Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods and Stochastic methods is presented for the R D projects selection. In this context, fuzzy ANP has been used for determining the local weights of decision making elements and combination of fuzzy ANP and fuzzy Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) have been applied for obtaining the global weights of the decision elements. The DEMATEL method is implemented for determining the interdependencies among decision elements. In selection problems, ranking large number of R D projects in big company by using these methods are almost impractical. So in this study, we used the Stochastic Dominance Degree (SDD) method based on the PROMETHEE II (Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluations) method for ranking R D projects. Finally, the paper attempts to express better understanding by an example of R D department in North Kerman Electrical Power Distribution Company (NKEPDC).
