standard method to assess the maturity level of KM in a governmental organization of Iran, Kerman Regional Electricity Company (KREC). Searching through tens of different methods which claimed to assess the actual level of KM resulted
in one offered by APO organization which seemed to be more culturally adaptive. The main tool of the survey was a proposed questionnaire conducted between a sample of 62 of experts and managers who have over 5 years record of
service. Validity and reliability of questionnaire was tested by Cronbach alpha test which resulted in 0.91 that showed optimal validity. Study findings revealed that the KREC is at Initiation stage of KM. APO also has developed a
division of results into 7 Critical Success Factors (CSF) that in this case it was shown that the company has the upper level in technology factors and lower level on People factors. The classified results by considering special
specifications of target society such as gender, record of service, organizational hierarchy, organizational sections; were analyzed. According to mentioned findings in compare with APO model the main and key step at this level is to define
and develop a structured approach toward KM for a cultural and educational development followed by a set of comprehensive trainings for all people engaged in processes especially those who concerned in main processes.
