In recent years serious games have presented themselves interestingly in manufacturing education systems. Being integrated learning contents with engaging activities in simulated environments brings a unique opportunity to learn knowledge and skills, hardly achievable through traditional teaching methods in manufacturing education systems. The objective of this research is to identify the effectiveness of Shortfall game which is a known game in the area of sustainability in supply chain. For this goal, conducting a critical literature review indicates four studies that evaluated the game. Within a cross-analysis of the obtained results, it is identified the benefit of Shortfall to bring a general awareness of sustainability in supply chain in an automobile industry context.
