Air travel is becoming a common transit mode among the public. Therefore, it is necessary to predict the airport access mode choice for passenger and staff in order to plan a city transport network. The prediction of air passenger and staff mode choice decisions is a key component of the planning of the airport landside. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the factors affecting the airport ground access mode choice and the overall process of modeling the airport ground access mode choice. In this paper, at first the importance and reason for predicting the airport access mode choice and then in general the process of modeling this mode choice are discussed. The most important parts of airport access mode choice prediction are identifying the factors that influence the airport ground access mode choice and the relevant market segmentation. According to researches, the main factors in these choices are travel time and travel costs, and four market segments of resident business, resident non-business, non-resident business and non-resident non-business, are common segments in this area. Also, a variety of math models are used in modeling of airport access mode choice that most of all, multinomial and nested logit models are used in this area.
