چكيده فارسي :
The Jurassic rocks of the Iran Plate were deposited during a crucial time interval following the closure of the Palaeotethys Ocean in the area (Early Cimmerian Orogeny in the late Triassic) and the suturing of the Cimmerian terranes to Eurasia (Turan Plate) around the Triassic-Jurassic boundary. Moreover, commencement of subduction of the Neotethys in the south, the Mid-Cimmerian Tectonic Event (Bajocian), and formation of a large backarc basin (South Caspian and Kashafrud basins) in the north influenced the sedimentation pattern during the Jurassic Period to a large extent (e.g., Wilmsen et al. 2009a; Brunet et al. 2009), in addition to a major change in climate.
