In this research, SBA-15/Polyaniline (SBA-15/PAni) mesoporous nanocomposite was synthesized, characterized and applied for adsorption of Acid Blue 62 (AB62) as a textile dye from aqueous solution. Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy (FTIR), Field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), Transmission electron microscope (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and BET were used to examine the structural characteristics of obtained adsorbent. The effective parameters on batch adsorption process such as pH, dosage, and time were investigated and optimized. The obtained optimized condition is as follows: pH=2, time=60 min and adsorbent dose = 0.3 g/l. For determining the type of adsorption isotherm, Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin, Dubinin–Radushkevich (D-R) and Redlich–Peterson (R-P) adsorption isotherms were applied. The results show very met the experimental data with Langmuir adsorption isotherm with maximum dye adsorption capacity of 970.874 mg/g. Based on the results obtained, the adsorption process was exothermic and feasible.
