In this paper, a Hybrid Big-Bang Big Crunch algorithm has been used to optimize several important parameters of the Automatic Generation Control of a three-area thermal system, such as; the integral controlling gain (Ki) as secondary control, the governor speed regulation parameters (Ri) for initial control and frequency bias coefficient Bi in the presence of physical restrictions. The simultaneous optimization of Kli, Ri and Bi parameters have not done in previous studying, furthermore, this method improves the dynamic response of the system and at the same time allows more allocation of Ri in some areas which will lead to cheap and easy access to governor.
