احساس رضايت از زندگي در فضاهاي عمومي شهر مبحث بسيار با اهميتي است؛ امروزه شهرهاي ما بيش از هر چيز نيازمند فضاهاي جمعي هستند. ميدان ها از ديرباز در بافت شهر به عنوان يك فضاي جمعي ايفاي نقش كرده اند كه در بين ميدان هاي تاريخي ايراني مي توان به ميدان نقش جهان كه در راس آنها قرار دارد، اشاره نمود. امروزه، ميدان نقش جهان اصفهان علي رغم آن كه مي تواند سند راسخ پايداري شهر اصفهان باشد، در جايگاه والاي خود به عنوان يك ميدان شناخته شده ي جهاني مورد توجه قرار نگرفته، و پاسخ گويي به نيازهاي متنوع انسان امروز و تامين آسايش در سايه انعطاف پذيري عملكردي آن ناديده گرفته شده است؛ در اين مقاله سعي بر اين است كه نيازهاي مختلف استفاده كنندگان شناخته شود؛ تا ارتباطي منطقي مابين نيازهاي رفتاري كاربران فضا و قابليت هاي محيط را در بافت تاريخي ميدان نقش جهان ايجاد نمايد. اين موضوع عامل افزايش انگيزه مردم در جذب به درون بافت و افزايش حضور آنها مي شود و زندگي اجتماعي را تا حد امكان تقويت مي نمايد و بسترهاي لازم را براي ارتقاي تعاملات اجتماعي فراهم مي سازد. روش تحقيق در پژوهش حاضر به صورت توصيفي- تحليلي انجام پذيرفته و نتايج حاصل از اين پژوهش راهكارهايي را در جهت شناخت عناصر موجود و تاثيرگذار بر مطلوبيت منظر شهري ميدان نقش جهان ارائه كرده تا با احياي كانون زنده شهر اصفهان، ارتقاي تعاملات اجتماعي بر اساس رضايتمندي در اين فضاي جمعي شهري افزايش و شور و نشاط اجتماعي فراهم شود.
