هدف از تحقيق حاضر بررسي تطبيقي مدال آوري و تاثير آن در رتبه بندي كاروان ورزشي ايران و همچنين به بررسي تعداد مدال ها در تمام دوره هاي المپيك پرداخته شده است.در جمع آوري مطالب از فيش، كه ابزار اندازه گيري اين پژوهش بوده است،استفاده شده است.پژوهشگر ابتدا همه اطلاعات و اسناد معتبري را كه از كتابخانه و سايت ها و وب سايت ها به دست آورده را دركنار هم گرد آورده، آنها را مورد مطالعه قرار داده و سپس نكات و مطالب مورد نياز را به صورت فيش،چك ليست و پرسشنامه استخراج كرده است. پس از محاسبه اطلاعات خام جداول،شروع به طبقه بندي اطلاعات در قالب فيش ها كرده است و هر يك از اطلاعات فيش ها را بر روي نمودار و جدول ترسيم كرده است.يافته هاي بدست آمده حاكي از اهميت ويژه ورزش كشتي در بين ساير رشته ها مي باشد كه مسئولين بايد در برنامه هاي ورزشي كشور، به كشتي به عنوان يك ورزش مدال آور اهميت بيشتري دهند.نتايج اين تحقيق نشان داد كه ورزش كشتي به اين دليل كه باعث تثبيت جايگاه ايران در بين ساير كشور ها شده، اهميت ويژه اي يافته است و پيشنهاد مي شود كه مسئولين بودجه مناسب تري به فدراسيون كشتي اختصاص داده و اين ورزش را در بين مدارس رواج دهند.
