دانش كارآفريني در عصر حاضر به يكي از پرطرفدارترين حوزه هاي مطالعاتي علمي و اقتصادي تبديل شده است. امروزه دانشجويان پس فارغ التحصيلي از مراكز آموزش عالي، وارد محيطي مي شوند كه به سرعت در حال تغيير است. فناوري و عوامل مرتبط با آن هر روز دنياي فرصت هاي شغلي را تغيير داده و مشاغل جديدي را ايجاد مي كنند. اين امر نياز به فارغ التحصيلان كارآفرين را روز به روز افزايش داده و آماده سازي فارغ التحصيلان دانشگاهي را از طريق توسعه كارآفريني ضروري مي كند(1). اين موضوع براي دانشجويان دانشگاهي كه در مقايسه با افراد بدون تحصيلات دانشگاهي بيشتر در پي خوداشتغالي هستند، بسيار حائز اهميت است(2). از اين رو، براي تشويق دانشجويان به كارآفرين شدن، شناخت عوامل و فرآيند هاي كه منجر به كارآفرين شدن آن ها مي شود، ضروري به نظر مي رسد. براساس يافته هاي اخير، از جمله مسائلي كه در بهبود زندگي بشر تاثير مستقيم دارد، مقوله هوش هيجاني است. براي مدت بيش از صد سال بهره هوشي به عنوان تنها شاخص براي نشان دادن توانايي يادگيري و موفقيت فردي به شمار مي آمد. اما اين مساله در سال هاي اخير مورد بحث و چالش محافل علمي قرار گرفته است و با عميق تر شدن درك بشر از مقوله هوش انساني، ايده جديدي از هوش مطرح شده است كه مي توان ريشه هاي آن را در نظريه هاي عاملي هوش جستجو كرد. اين نوع هوش كه به هوش هيجاني معروف است براساس نظريات روانشناسي همچون گاردنر، بار- ان، سالووي و ماير، و گلمن شكل گرفته است. مفهوم هوش هيجاني به چگونگي سازگاري و موفقيت افراد در موقعيت هاي زندگي اشاره مي كند. در واقع، نظريه هاي هوش هيجاني حوزه وسيعي از توانايي هاي مرتبط با شناخت و به كارگيري هيجانات را توجيه مي كند و اظهار مي دارد كه هوش هيجاني در عملكرد روزانه، اغلب مهم تر از هوش شناختي است(3). امروزه شواهد جديد نشان مي دهد كه شخصيت و هوش هيجاني نقش مهمي در منشاء كارآفريني ايفا مي كنند (4). اما با اين وجود تلاش هاي اندكي براي تعيين اينكه خصيصه هاي هوش هيجاني چه نقشي را در فرآيند كارآفريني بازي مي كنند، انجام شده است. كه پژوهش حاضر با هدف بررسي رابطه بين هوش هيجاني و ويژگي هاي شخصيتي كارآفريني دانشجويان تربيت بدني طراحي و انجام گرديد
