Khak Sorkh is an iron skarn deposit located between regional strike slip faults. Large scale structures have been investigated in the region to determine the general structural setting and controls on emplacement of intrusives. Plutonism shows a good relationship with contractional zones perpendicular to 𝞼1 trend in the strike slip system. The effect of faults on magnetite and host rocks studied at outcrops and drilling cores and syn-mineralization faulting detected. Spatial correlation between structures and magnetite occurrences in the region has been confirmed using buffer zones. Ground magnetic survey results have been used to study the trend of magnetic anomalies and the role of structural controls on their distribution. Based on results NW-SE trend has been the main trends controlling magnetic anomalies and intrusive units and NE-SW trends identified as secondary trends which cut the first one and cut magnetic anomalies.
