Nowadays in order to decrease use of fossils fuels and construction new green technology equipment uncommon elements are so necessary. The distribution of Rare earth elements is geographically uneven. These elements are not extractable widely. Selenium, germanium, gallium, tellurium, indium and silver are the by products of base metal deposits. Among the trace element, Se, Te, Ga, Ge and In are used in the construction of solar plants. Selenium and Tellurium is achieved from anode slims in the electrolyte cells in the copper ore processing factory. In this article the chemical composition of chalcopyrite from Qale-zary copper mine (SE of Birjand, Iran) were determined. Bulk and spot analyses of chalcopyrite were done by ICP-MS, XPMA and EPMA, respectively. Based on the results of XPMA in some points the maximum content of Se in Chalcopyrite was determined up to 142 ppm. EPMA determined up to 300, 100, 600 and 200 ppm Indium, Gallium, zinc and silver in chemical composition of chalcopyrite, respectively. ICP_MS results show 74.6 ppm selenium, 0.27 ppm germanium and 0.35 ppm indium in the bulk composition of chalcopyrite.
