Coordination compounds with infinite structures have been intensively studied, in particular, compounds with backbones constructed from metal ions as connectors and ligands as linkers, the so-called “coordination polymers. [1-2] Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are materials that are constructed from metal-based nodes and organic linkers [3-4]. The combination of these two building units leads to the formation of crystalline, porous structures, which, in many instances have unique chemical functionality. [5-6] Continuing our previous works on synthesizing of [Na(HB-4-hps) (H2O)] n (1.H2O) as metal organic framework, in this work we focused on modulation of the compound structure by reversible removal of guest molecules. Thus, in this work, we wish to report an example of the one which is a reversible exchange of solvent molecules in a sodium metal-organic framework complex without important change in its structure.
