"Recognition and Analysis of Effective Paradigms on Contemporary Urban Public Spaces”

Urban Public Spaces as spaces which are preparing daily experience of urban life for people, have an important role in responding many needs from the society. Today there have been extensive changes and evolutions all over the world in definition, quality, communications and the functions of these spaces. Urban public spaces are facing some problems and challenges such as decrease of importance, changes in space, urban society and social capital essence, missing many functions, decreasing the importance of communication with people, community and society and changes in social communication, the risk of ruining urban public spaces or creating new types of them, increasing control and limitation in access, facing global and local pressures,.... So recognition and analyzing the effective factors and paradigms regarding these changes are necessary for identifying the essence of contemporary urban public spaces and all the changes happened to them. It can be said that Modernity, Modernism, Modernization and also Globalization and Globalism have been and are the main and most important paradigms which cause the urban public space to be like what they are today. This research is trying to analyze effective paradigms on recent changes and explain mentioned effects on urban public spaces by following the process of changes and evolutions of spaces in the world and Iran as well and the critiques from theorists regarding this issue during the time.
