Among various industries, the textile dying industries produce large volume of wastewater. Azo dyes have been used extensively in textile industry. These dyes are toxic and carcinogenic, and also damage the environment. Microbial decolorization is generally a safe, low-cost, and easy method for removing the dyes in the textile wastewater. In this research, decolorization ability of G1 strain isolated from Kashan textile wastewater was investigated in a medium containing Reactive Red 195 for 72 hours. The bacteria decolorized Reactive Red 195 above 80% at concentration of 50 ppm and temperature 32 °C.
