Introduction: In recent years, as a result of advances in the control of communicable diseases, increased attention has been paid to non-communicable diseases such as cancer. Moreover, the survival rate of children with cancer has increased dramatically due to the application of new treatments so that the average 5-year survival of children with cancer in developed countries has increased to 80% (1-3). In addition to the prolonged lifetime and survival of children, the quality of life is also important. There are ample evidences that regular physical activity can improve the overall health status, functional capacity and quality of life of children with cancer (4). In this study, the effect of an aerobic exercise on the quality of life of children with cancer has been studied in the Dr. Sheikh Hospital of Mashhad. Methodology: the 30 cancer patients ages 8-18 voluntarily were participated in research, who were under treatment or one year had passed from the end of their treatment, were enrolled. Initially, all participants and their parents filled out the informed consent form and quality of life questionnaire (PedsQL4). The subjects were randomly assigned to two groups (experimental and control). The patients in the study group participated in a training program for 12 weeks, which consisted of three sessions per week, each session lasting 60 minutes. The control group continued their daily routine and both groups received their regular drug treatment. At the end of the study, the participants and their parents filled out the quality of life questionnaire again. Results: In this study, a significant difference was observed in the quality of life of children, as suggested by their parents (P 0. 05). However, this difference was not statistically significant in the view of children. When the sub scales of quality of life were analyzed, sub scales of physical and emotional function were found to be significant. Conclusion: The results showed that an aerobic exercise could improve the quality of life of children, as suggested in the view of their parents, and also affect some sub scales of quality of life such as physical and emotional functions of children. Thus, considering that children may have an inaccurate perception of the items in the questionnaire, the report of parents about their children will probably be more realistic. Finally, it is suggested that further researches be carried out with greater population study and longer and more diversified physical exercises to achieve more precise results.
