We propose several notions of morphisms between Cantor minimal systems and we construct various functors between the resulting categories and the categories of dimension groups and C*-algebras. We construct a functor $\mathrm{K}^{0}$ to give functorial formulations of some results of Giordano, Putnam, and Skau concerning orbit equivalence and a result of Glasner and Weiss concerning weak orbit equivalence. In particular, we give an equivalent condition in terms of C*-algebras for weak orbit equivalence.
